COVID-19 UPDATE
Due to the spreading of the COVID – 19 virus, effective Monday March 23, 2020
The Lee County Animal Control Office will be going to an appointment only basis.
Anyone who needs to bring animals or conduct any business with the Lee County Animal Control Office will need to first make an appointment to do so.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope you understand our efforts to keep our employees and community safe during this time.




Hours of Operation:

Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. CST
We are available on weekends and holidays for emergencies only, call your local law enforcement agency in case of emergency.

Services We Offer

The Lee County Animal Control Department consists of 2 Animal Control Officers who service all of Lee County except Auburn city limits, Opelika city limits, and Phenix City city limits.

Our officers have been nationally certified by the National Animal Control Association (NACA) and they continue their education yearly by attending classes offered at NACA conferences and classes offered by local agencies such as Emergency Management Agency, Lee County Sheriff's Department, and the local Fire Departments, just to name a few.

Summary of Services
- Enforce animal related laws.
- Respond to animal related calls.
-Provide live humane traps when they are needed and are available.
-Capture and transport stray and injured animals to the nearest participating veterinarian facility if there owner cannot be located.
-Capture animals suspected of having rabies and assist in the investigation of animal bites, in conjunction with the Rabies Veterinarian and the Lee County Health Department. We ensure that these animals are properly vaccinated and quarantined or sent to be tested for rabies.
- Assist the Lee County Sheriffs office in the Investigation of animal cruelty and neglect.
